Prp therapy of the scalp is a course of procedures. To achieve stable results, several sessions are required, the number of which is determined at a preliminary consultation, taking into account the condition of the hair and scalp.
There will be a gradual decrease in hair loss, and a noticeable effect can be expected after about 4-6 weeks. After completing the course, the hair will become thicker, healthier and shinier.

PRP therapy, or platelet-rich plasma therapy, is a treatment method that uses the patient's own platelet—rich plasma to stimulate tissue healing and improve skin, hair, and joints.
PRP therapy of the hairy part of the head is used as a preventive procedure for various types of hair loss, including seasonal, stressful and post-ovoid hair loss, deterioration of hair quality (thinning, brittleness, slow growth), diffuse and androgenetic alopecia, as well as to prepare the patient for hair transplantation (the course of procedures must be completed 10 days before the transplant) and rehabilitation after hair transplant.
- 48 hours before the procedure, avoid overeating, especially fatty, spicy, salty, fried foods and sweets.
- It is recommended to perform the procedure 3-4 hours after a light meal (for example, a light breakfast if the procedure is scheduled for the daytime, or a light lunch with fruits and vegetables if the procedure is in the evening)
- Follow the drinking regime the day before, drinking at least 1.5-2 liters of water per day.
- Wash your hair thoroughly before the procedure.
The number of procedures depends on the specific problem and the individual characteristics of the patient, but a course of 7-10 procedures with an interval of 2-3 weeks is usually recommended.
The procedure begins with taking blood from the patient, which is then centrifuged to separate platelet-rich plasma. The resulting plasma is injected into problem areas.
Possible side effects include mild pain, swelling, redness, and bruising at the injection site. They usually go away within a few days.
The results may vary depending on the area of treatment, but usually noticeable improvements appear a few weeks after the procedure.
- Do not touch your scalp during the day.
- Do not wash your hair for 24-48 hours; during this period, it is recommended to wear a headdress to protect your head from UV rays.
- Avoid using peels and scrubs for 48 hours after the procedure.
- Do not use the sauna, steam room, solarium or swimming pool for 7 days after the procedure.
